Benefits for your baby and your family

Sleeping well as babies sets a crucial foundation for sleep for life. Babies that sleep well become good sleepers as toddlers and then as children and onwards into adult life. Studies show they perform better at school. Then there’s the parents…..We all know parents who haven’t had a full night’s sleep for months if not years but it’s not sustainable for them, for their relationship, work life and for the rest of the family. With enough sleep most things seem possible, without it most things seem impossible!

Becoming a parent is one of the greatest joys and also one of the greatest challenges in life. Babies don’t come with an instruction book and it’s really important to reach out for expert help when needed. The sooner you get babies sleeping well and into a good routine the easier it is. Once they become older it gets a little trickier as they develop bad sleeping habits but Rachel is still able to help sort the issues as she has seen them all before!

What to expect from a Maternity Nurse

Your Maternity Nurse provides comprehensive 24-hour support, managing every detail of newborn care—from nursery organisation and laundry to feeding hygiene and sterilisation. Beyond the baby, she offers vital postnatal assistance to the mother and helps integrate the new arrival into the family unit, ensuring siblings feel included and supported.

While most families engage a maternity nurse for 8 to 12 weeks, shorter bookings are common. For older babies requiring specialized sleep or routine correction, a nurse may provide focused, short-term troubleshooting on a 24/4 or 24/5 basis. These highly skilled professionals typically live-in, working 24 hours a day for 5 to 6 days per week to provide total peace of mind.

Time off is scheduled in consultation with you, usually over weekends. To remain effective during night shifts, she requires a daily rest period of 3 to 4 hours, timed to suit your household's specific needs. Her presence ensures you receive the rest necessary for recovery, which is particularly beneficial following a C-section.

From mastered breastfeeding techniques and latching advice to establishing healthy self-settling habits, she brings expertise in managing reflux, tongue-tie, and bottle-feeding transitions. Operating with the utmost discretion, she understands when to provide your family with private space and when to step in with professional guidance. While the client provides food and accommodation, the arrangement of shared or separate meals is entirely at your discretion. She is a dedicated partner in your early parenting journey.

What Well Rested Parents Say

"We have been so impressed by Carli that we have asked her to extend her time with us. She has been a delight to work with this week and is leaving the household in a much calmer state!"

"I honestly don’t know where to begin because I can’t say enough good things about Jen. From the moment she arrived, Jen adapted to our family life/routine seamlessly. It can be tricky having a stranger in your personal space, but with Jen, it was not only super easy, it was a true pleasure.  Somehow, Jen always managed to offer guidance in such a way that never seemed overbearing. She handled every situation with such grace and dignity – we often laughed at how every single one of our guests made a similar comment as to how just being in her presence made them feel calm and happy!"

"Cheyenne was a total godsend. She was a incredibly warm, gentle, experienced and organized maternity nurse, who proved invaluable to our family. She was extremely helpful, thoughtful and gave good advice/guidance where needed."
